Saving Lives

On Saturday August 26th, 2017, the Pickering Auxiliary Rescue Association celebrate 50 years of supporting the local community. Their mandate is simple: the preservation of life on the water. From humble beginnings forged out of a passion to help those in need they flourished to be the association they are today. No matter the weather, crew after crew head down to the dock ready to respond to the call over the radio. My thanks to the Rescue Association for the above information.

  1. They can't be honoured enough, they are brave people.
It's a nice structure with the boat hanging like this.

  3. I thought that this was a pic from Nova Scotia. You don't really think of rescues here but I guess I should!

  4. They are very needed at seasides. To come to a rescue for people in trouble is so brave of them.

  6. They put their lives on the line when they try and save others. We have the Coast Guard doing the same here by boat and helicopter. About five months ago a helicopter went down and all four people died. It was supposed to be a routine rescue.

  7. I've seen vessels like this underway on North Carolina's Albermarle Sound.
